I received my Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and Master’s Degree in Communication Disorders and Sciences at the University of Oregon. I am a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Oregon and hold the American Speech Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence. I have worked in various educational settings ranging from elementary to high school including functional life skills and home-tutored settings.
I have extensive experience working with speech and language disabilities in the pediatric population. I have provided diagnostic and therapeutic intervention for children and adolescents with articulation and phonological disorders, learning disabilities, fluency disorders, pragmatic language disorders, receptive and expressive language disorders, and children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, and cognitive delays. My experience includes augmentative communication assessments and therapy including various speech output devices ranging from low-tech communication boards to Ipads.
I believe in creating a fun and positive learning environment for children in order for them to achieve their highest potential, as well as incorporating functional skills in therapy to promote carryover of skills learned in the therapeutic setting. Also, I believe in a team approach to therapy and seek out collaboration with parents, teachers and other therapists.
